Bill Jia

Sandler Faculty Fellow, Department of Physiology
Bill is from Toronto, Canada, and did his undergraduate degree in instrumentation and control engineering at the University of Cambridge, England. He then conducted his PhD studies in systems biology at Harvard University with Adam Cohen and Sean Megason, where he developed approaches to image and control electrical activity of developing cardiomyocytes in live zebrafish embryos and established the timing mechanisms underlying the first heartbeats.

Siri Tantry

Master’s Student
Siri Tantry graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at UCSF in Biomedical Imaging under the department of Biomedical Imaging and Radiology. She’s extremely passionate about imaging science and how it contributes to medicine and disease. During her undergraduate studies, she worked on early detection of Alzheimer's through fluorescence technology and now, is excited to use imaging to understand the development of the heart in zebrafish embryos.
